Event Details

Once again, Project Chamber Music represents the absolute best in the genre, bringing together a roster of all-star musicians from around the country this October for inspired music-making and mentorship in the lush Willamette Valley. This season’s performance, ‘Song & Dance’, features two of the most compelling and beloved contributions to the piano quartet repertoire of all time: Mozart’s Piano Quartet No. 2 in E-flat major and Brahms’ Piano Quartet No. 1 in G minor. This pairing represents the youthful expressions of composers in their late twenties seeking to push limits and make their mark. Mozart’s work, full of joyful, bubbly effervescence and playfulness, is a study in lyricism, composed just weeks after he completed his famed opera, The Marriage of Figaro. Brahms’ writing offers a bridge of radiant lyricism, culminating in an exhilarating Hungarian dance – a wild, fiery, folk music-inspired romp. Performers include violinist Rachel Lee Priday, violist Caitlin Lynch, cellist Bion Tsang, and pianist Julio Elizalde. All concert-goers will appreciate the 90-minute concert length, which leaves time following the performance to meet these star artists at a complimentary reception. Audiences will feel especially inspired knowing that all ticket proceeds directly benefit need-based scholarships to provide music lessons to children in the region. Tickets are available at pcmwv.org or by cash or check only on the day of the concert.
