Mixed media is a wild goose chase down a twisted rabbit hole. It involves a series of what if questions: what if I glued this down, drew a line over the top, added some paint, glued something else down, and then sanded a portion, added more paint, made marks, then started over. Working loosely and intuitively, we will use scraps of wallpaper, worn ephemera, hand painted papers that we create, and materials scavenged from discarded books, we will create a deck of 25 collages on 4×6-inch mat board pieces. Creating these collages is a wild cacophony of cutting, tearing, drawing, gluing, painting, writing, scraping, sanding, layering, and revealing.
