Artist John Paul Shields brings Peruvian, Venezuelan, and Spanish music to Salem. John’s program is filled with his passionate love for the intertwined music of Spain and the South American countries of Peru and Venezuela. Introduced to the magic of this music by recordings from Christopher Parkening and Alirio Diaz, John moved to Peru to live in the world of that music and earned the privilege of studying with master guitarist Raúl García Zárate.
