The Willamette Singers are very excited to share a new season of great vocal jazz with our loyal fans.  This year’s group hopes to follow closely on the heels of last year’s Singers which were selected by DownBeat Magazine at the Best Undergraduate Collegiate Large Vocal Jazz Ensemble for the 3rd time in 4 years.  Singers also has a brand new album which they recorded last May at the famous Studio X in Seattle.  The album is titled “First Train Home” and absolutely wonderful.  It can be previewed and purchased on line at http://willamette.edu/cla/music/purchase-music/index.html.  Singers is fortunate to have its outstanding combo from last year back for one more year with Ayana Bradley on piano, Dexter Williams on bass, and, Joey Grimmell on drums.  Featured selections on the concert will be “Before the Rain” a powerful acappella ballad, “First Train Home”, and, a bluesy shuffle arrangement of Muddy Water.
