Artist and Crow’s Shadow Resident Damien Gilley (b. 1977, Westlake, California) is an artist and educator working in Portland, Oregon.
Gilley will talk about his residency at Crow’s Shadow Institute of the Arts as well as his work and the relationship it creates between site, architecture, and perception. Looking at contemporary vision technologies as influence the talk will contemplate the means of production of contemporay images in an age of augmentation. The artist will discuss how digital and physical visuality interact in his practice and how those interfaces translate into material choices and
production approaches.
This lecture is offered in conjunction with the “Crow’s Shadow Institute of the Arts at 25” exhibition taking place in the Melvin Henderson-Rubio Gallery at the Hallie Ford Museum of Art at Willamette University.
