In 1857, Salem’s first fire company was established with a crew of dedicated volunteers. 160 years later, the professional force fields over 30,000 emergency calls per year. This exhibit allows visitors to follow the development of the department and its technology to see how fire has shaped our community over the past century.

Salem Fire Foundation and the Willamette Heritage Center invite our members to attend the exhibit opening reception on Monday, November 6th, from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. The reception will be catered by Roth’s, and wine from Willamette Valley Vineyards will be served.
