Event Details

Stop by the Willamette Heritage Center on the second Thursday in October for the quarterly Art After Dark event. Visitors can look forward to a number of artistic offerings on the two floors of the Wool Warehouse building.

Upstairs, the Art Studios at Mission Mill will have work on the walls, and studio doors will be open to welcome guests. Additionally, featured artists Bonnie Hull and Elizabeth Bauman worked to create an exhibit called Pink Gesso. The starting point: pink gessoed paper, and the lines of a room. Together the two artists drew inspiration from the exhibition space, and then finished their pieces on their own. Very different ideas sprang from a simple starting point, yet similarities abound in the finished work.

Coinciding with the Art After Dark event, the Straub Environmental Center’s Eco Hub, in partnership with the David Douglas Society, will present Kindred Spirits, a group exhibition of artwork by local artists in memory of Salem-based artist and environmental activist Rollie Wisbrock. The exhibited works speak to Rollie’s love of the outdoors in diverse ways through the lens of each participating artist.

Max Marbles/Bookbinder, and photographer Frank Barnett will be just down the hall from the Eco Hub, on the first floor of the Willamette Heritage Center, to talk to visitors about their craft.
